For almost 17 years, there has always been at least one kid home. Today, for the first time, they are ALL at school. 😭 Including Naomi — who just started kindergarten. This one hit different. We kicked off the week with the Jeppson family reunion — horseback riding, swimming, Liberty Park picnic, and passport stamps the day before school started. Because why not cram in one more memory? Then came the first day. Annual photos. Eight kids out the door. And then — silence. For the first time in almost 17 years, I was alone in my own house. No one needed anything from me. I stood in my kitchen and didn't know what to do with myself. Naomi started kindergarten on Wednesday (she was on a staggered start), and she'd been my little Life Center buddy for five years — she always helped me find my car in the parking lot. That chapter is officially closed. And I'm not okay about it. And I'm also completely okay about it. This is the week everything changed.
