A recent man-overboard situation involving a Royal Caribbean cruise ship got me curious about something most cruise passengers probably don’t want to think about… What actually happens if you fall off a cruise ship? How often do people really go overboard? How does someone fall from a modern cruise ship in the first place? How quickly does the crew know someone is missing? What happens during the search? And if you actually end up in the ocean… what are your chances of being found and surviving? It’s definitely a darker subject than I normally cover, but I’m a curious person.
