I wish more travelers knew this about Saint Lucia. 1. Where you stay matters. The north and south sides of the island offer very different experiences, so think about the kind of trip you want before choosing your resort. 2. Don’t spend your entire trip at the resort. Saint Lucia is an island worth exploring, from Sugar Beach and the mud baths to waterfalls and everything in between. 🌴 3. A rental car is an option…but not recommended due to road conditions. Booking airport transportation or a driver for the day can make exploring a lot easier. 4. US dollars are widely accepted, although you may receive change in Eastern Caribbean dollars. 5. English is the official language, so communicating is easy, while you may also hear Saint Lucian Creole spoken locally.
