Monkey River Eco-Adventure excursion at Harvest Caye Belize

On my NCL Escape sailing, we stopped at Harvest Caye in Belize and I went on the Monkey River Eco-Adventure excursion—an amazing way to experience the wildlife and rainforest up close. 🌿🐒🦎 Guided by Vaughan and Captain Adrian, the ship excursion was seamless and top-notch. We cruised the calm river through mangroves and rainforest, spotting howler monkeys, turtles on logs, tropical birds, and a giant orange-and-black iguana lounging in a tree with its long tail draped below. Our naturalist guide shared fascinating stories about the flora, from breadfruit trees brought during the slave trade to termite-resistant trees, and even pointed out a crocodile sunning along the riverbank.
