Short answer: booking direct isn't cheaper. A travel advisor's commission is already built into the cruise fare. Book through an advisor and that's who the cruise line pays. Book it yourself and the cruise line keeps it, which means using an advisor doesn't add anything to your price. What you give up by booking direct: group space the cruise line holds back for agencies and never publishes, onboard credit that doesn't appear on the website, and somebody watching the price after you've paid. If you booked direct recently and haven't made your final payment, it's often not too late to transfer the booking. Windows vary by cruise line, so comment with the ship and the date you booked. Fourteen cruises, four cruise lines. I'm Ashley, your cruise person. #shorts #cruise #cruisetips #cruiseplanning
