Rome cruise port do’s and don’ts ☀️🚢 Do’s: Take the train 🚆 The cruise port is actually in Civitavecchia, about 80 km from Rome. There’s a shuttle connecting the port to the train station, making the train a convenient option to get into the city. Plan your day ahead 🗺️ Pick the sights you REALLY want to see Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Vatican City… you won’t have time for everything! Explore on foot 👟 Once you’re in Rome, walking is one of the best ways to experience the city. Wander through the little streets, grab a gelato 🍦 and enjoy the atmosphere. Book the big attractions in advance 🎟️ Port days are short, so avoid wasting precious time in long lines. Have lunch at @osteriadafortunata for some fresh habdmade pasta 🍝. (Be sure to head there at 11:15 as they open at 11:30 and the line can get pretty long, but it is worth it!) Keep an eye on the time ⏰ Always leave plenty of time to get back to Civitavecchia and, most importantly, back to your ship! Don’ts: Don’t think the port is actually in Rome 😅 Civitavecchia and Rome are NOT next to each other. Getting into the city takes time! Don’t take a taxi without checking the price first 🚕 A taxi between Rome and Civitavecchia can get VERY expensive. Don’t try to see the whole city in one day📍Colosseum + Vatican + Trevi + Pantheon + Spanish Steps + Trastevere… sounds amazing, but you’ll spend the whole day rushing around! Don’t underestimate the summer heat ☀️ Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and plan a few indoor/shaded stops. Don’t forget you have a ship to catch 🚢 Rome is amazing, but your cruise ship will NOT wait for you! As always, remember to be respectful, have fun and enjoy bella Roma! 🤩 #rome #civitavecchia #romecruiseport #cruise #cruisetips #mediterranean #italy #eurosummer #travel #love #viral
