After docking outside the city, we took a free shuttle from the Bilbao cruise port, which brought us close to the city center in about 25 minutes. From there, we walked to the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, famous for its stunning architecture by Frank Gehry and incredible outdoor art installations like Puppy by Jeff Koons and Maman by Louise Bourgeois. We also strolled along the Nervión River, crossed the Zubizuri Bridge and explored Casco Viejo (Bilbao Old Town). No visit to Bilbao is complete without sampling pintxos, the Basque version of tapas.
