Lombard Street is easily one of the most mesmerising spots in San Francisco. Seeing the cars wind down those sharp turns never gets old! Why is it "The Crookedest Street"? The Design: The famous one-block section has eight sharp hairpin turns. It was designed this way in 1922 to reduce the 27-degree natural grade of the hill, which was way too steep for cars (and pedestrians!) to travel safely. While some locals argue that Vermont Street is technically 'crookeder' Lombard remains the world-famous icon for its beautiful brickwork and gardens. A little behind-the-scenes note: If you notice a bit of a wobble in the footage, that was the San Francisco wind testing my camera mount! 💨 I debated keeping this one in the vault, but the view was too iconic not to share. Thanks for coming along on the journey, even with the bumps along the way! #LombardStreet #SanFrancisco #TravelTimelapse #CaliforniaDreaming #TravelWithBrynmag If you enjoyed watching this video, here are some of our other YouTube Travel and Cruise video Playlists to check out: Pacific Adventure Tasmania and Kangaroo Island Cruise - December 2024 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9MsJ_-9CTxkSZVp8IIw2FFI Carnival Splendor Journey Cruise - Sydney to Singapore - July/August 2024 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9NXtwEInV_dd2KDvWhZhuPg Carnival Splendor - South Pacific Cruise - May 2023 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9PqcXSef85fQH4c1D1S114C Hong Kong - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9N38WR4tza8Vovj4Odn0N5c BALI - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9OTlC3-UNKM7PWYk4XdgsOG Vietnam - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9OLPvDGnLkj0SzwL0SWmImG New Zealand - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9NcETz6Im-RF34EgXkJQ_-c Fiji - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9NbLQSpTe2ooSlvNK-uWhoG Nepal - Travel with Brynmag https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9OJK_osL3XVouS9DBkHH_1V Carnival Legend - New Caledonia – March 2017 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdWntz9hc9PsE31qijpBsfpcaFkc4LoR Thank you for watching.
