It’s the final day of my Mediterranean cruise onboard the Sapphire Princess, and we're docking in the vibrant port of Naples, Italy! Instead of staying in the city (which I have never warmed to), I'm heading across the bay to beautiful Sorrento. In this episode, I walk you through exactly how to DIY this excursion. I show you the disembarkation process in Naples, finding the ferry terminal, and all the details you need—including ferry lines, costs, and travel duration. Once the ferry arrives at the dock in Sorrento, I break down the three distinct ways to get up to the cliffside town (the lift, the shuttle bus, or the brutal steep stairs!). From there, I explore the charming, narrow laneways during Easter Saturday, sample local limoncello and chocolate (with surprisingly zero high-pressure sales tactics!), and check out the lively, pedestriansed main street. But the day wasn't without a classic travel mishap—find out what happens when I try to head back to the dock, with little time to spare, only to find the elevator out of service! I wrap up the cruise with a beautiful sunset sailaway from my balcony (complete with great views of the pilot boat from Naples) and a packed final night of entertainment onboard the Sapphire Princess, featuring a beautiful candlelight concert, a lively musical offering in Crooners Bar, and the classic Farewell Variety Show.
