Sunrise arrival in Huahine on Star Breeze
Sunrise arrival into Huahine ✨🌴 — Windstar Cruises, Star Breeze Good morning from Huahine — one of the most authentic, untouched gems of French Polynesia. We sailed in at sunrise, gliding between the two islands of Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti, connected by the longest (and only!) bridge in all of French Polynesia. The light was soft, the lagoon perfectly still, and the little town of Fare slowly came to life as we approached. Pure magic. Huahine feels like stepping back into the heart of old Polynesia. You can e-bike past 400-year-old stone fish traps, visit ancient marae, or meet the famous blue-eyed sacred eels (their pale eyes come from being blind — they hear you instead). The island’s archaeological site at Maeva is one of the best preserved in the region, with marae dedicated to gods like Tane and Oro, plus a glimpse into centuries-old traditions and rituals. Windstar brings you right to it all — lush mountains, quiet bays, waterfalls, sacred sites, and a culture that’s very much alive in everyday life. Another sunrise, another island, another day sailing 180 Degrees from Ordinary. 💙✨🌺
