Sitka is one of the most unique Alaska cruise ports because the cruise terminal is located several miles outside of downtown, so planning your shuttle time is important. We’ll show you how the Sitka cruise shuttle works, where it drops you off near Harrigan Centennial Hall, and how we explored Sitka without booking a big cruise ship excursion. During our Sitka port day, we visited downtown Sitka, St. Michael’s Cathedral, Fortress of the Bear, the Sitka seawalk, Sitka National Historical Park, the visitor center, totem poles, and the Alaska Raptor Center area. We also saw bald eagles, beautiful mountain views, coastal scenery, and plenty of wildlife along the way.
