P&O Arcadia British Isles Cruise Belfast 7th June 2026
This video is a review of our visit to Belfast on Sunday 7th June 2026. We received a warm welcome from the local guides on the shuttle bus from P&O Arcadia taking us into the city centre. We were given information about what to do during our visit and as a result we went first to St. George's Sunday market which is in a large building a short walk from where we were dropped off. It was a typical farmer's market as well as fresh fish and groceries there were craft stalls, places to eat and drink with a band playing Irish music. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with families and people of all ages mixing together enjoying the day. From the market we walked back to the centre and took a city bus tour which was so very informative about the history of Belfast. There are some beautiful buildings in the city. Most of this video is from the bus drive. The commentary was by Catherine the lady bus driver who told us that she was 'a child of the troubles' and was able to share with us her memories as well as her knowledge. Unfortunately I was unable to photograph all of the landmarks that were spoken about in the commentary. We listened attentively even though we were getting wet in the showers! We saw many beautiful buildings including the amazing sculpture 'The Rise'. It was made very clear to us that the majority of the people in Belfast welcome visitors and really want the tourism.
