By day, Candles transforms into Veranda, my go-to spot for made-to-order breakfasts with eggs just how you like them, daily specials like waffles and crêpes, and don’t even get me started on the homemade cinnamon rolls. OMG. Veranda at lunch is just as tempting — fresh, flavorful specials every day. I had Asian noodles that were so good I’m still thinking about them. Dinner in Amphora (December 3) was another standout — every course featuring a James Beard–inspired dish, thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. And when the mood calls for something relaxed? Star Grill on Deck 8, dining outdoors with the sea rushing by, is always a favorite.
