Most cruise visitors walk or ride about 3.5 km from the pier to Åsafossen Waterfall, where the café, the iconic wooden troll's foot, and tour buses all stop at the base of the falls. Instead of turning around, we followed a rocky trail that locals were using. The short climb rewarded us with stunning overlooks, close-up views of the waterfall, and a peaceful experience that many visitors miss.
