The Iceland Wildlife Encounter Most Travellers Never Experience 🐧🇮🇸
When people think of Iceland, they picture waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, and black-sand beaches. But some of my favourite moments happen far from the crowds. Standing quietly on a coastal cliff, watching Atlantic puffins go about their day. Blinking. Waddling. Launching themselves into the air with all the grace of a flying potato. Iceland is home to roughly 60% of the world’s Atlantic puffin population, making it one of the best places on Earth to see these charismatic seabirds in their natural habitat. What I love most about expedition travel is that it creates opportunities for encounters like this. Instead of simply checking landmarks off a list, you have time to slow down, observe, and connect with the wildlife and landscapes that make a destination special. These are often the moments travellers remember most—not the famous sights, but the unexpected encounters that make them feel part of the place. Would seeing puffins in the wild be on your Iceland bucket list? ❤️ Sheila Gallant-HalloranVirtuoso Cruise Icon | Expedition Cruise SpecialistLush Life Travel #Iceland #Puffins #AtlanticPuffins #WildlifeTravel #ExpeditionCruising #AuroraExpeditions #SylviaEarle #LuxuryTravel #AdventureTravel #BucketListTravel #ReturnOnLife #AskSheila #ACTAImmersiveExpeditionCruise
