Cruising through New Zealand’s Fiordland on the NCL Spirit was one of the most beautiful days of our trip. We sailed through three incredible fiords in one day — Dusky Sound, Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound. In this video, I’m sharing the scenery from each fiord, what the experience was like from a cruise ship, and a few practical tips if you’re planning a New Zealand cruise through Fiordland. Although they’re called “Sounds,” Milford, Doubtful and Dusky were actually carved by glaciers, which makes them true fiords — and the landscapes are spectacular. Expect towering mountains, waterfalls, mist, calm water and some of the most dramatic scenery in New Zealand.
