Welcome back to Episode 2 of our Alaska Adventure Series aboard the Norwegian Joy! 🦀🚢 Our first stop in Alaska brings us to Ketchikan, where Norwegian Cruise Line docks at Ward Cove, about 20 minutes outside of downtown. If you're planning excursions here, this is something you'll definitely want to know before you book. In this video, we take one of the most unforgettable excursions of our Alaska cruise—the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour aboard the famous Aleutian Ballad, featured on Deadliest Catch. We watched the crew demonstrate real commercial fishing equipment, learned what life is like as an Alaskan crab fisherman, and got an up-close look at king crab, prawns, rockfish, eel, and more. After the tour, we headed into downtown Ketchikan to explore the famous Creek Street, do a little shopping, and see if we could catch the salmon run. Even though the salmon hadn't arrived yet, Creek Street was still one of our favorite places to walk around and take pictures. We also share a few tips about Ward Cove, including transportation to town and where we found some of the best souvenir prices before heading back to the ship.
