Everyone told me not to come back to Phuket. Too expensive, overrated, too busy, not the “real Thailand”… there are plenty of strong opinions about Phuket. But after spending six weeks here earlier this year, returning to Scotland for a couple of months and then choosing to come back, I wanted to show you why. I am now living in Bang Tao, inside Laguna Phuket, and it feels very different from the version of Phuket many people picture. In this video I am sharing why I came back, why I chose Bang Tao, what living around Laguna is like, how I get around without a scooter, what day-to-day life costs me and some of the things I think people should know before choosing this part of Phuket. Phuket will not be for everyone, and neither will Bang Tao, but there is a reason I chose to come back.
