I Asked a Current Carnival Crew Member About the $2.50Hour Claims
After my last two videos on Carnival's crew and the MUA's push for Australian minimum wage rules, the comments were loud — and some of them accused me of defending exploitative wages. So I did three things: laid out what I actually said (not what people assumed I said), broke down the international maritime law that actually governs crew pay on foreign-flagged ships, and reached out directly to a current Carnival crew member for their own account of hours, breaks, medical access, wages, and drinking water conditions. This isn't a defence of Carnival. It's an attempt to separate what's legally required from what's actually happening on board — because those two questions keep getting collapsed into one, and I don't think that's fair to anyone, crew included.
