An Easy & Awesome Mexican Excursion for Under $10: Acapulco on a Budget

If you're sailing to Acapulco but don't know what to do, then this is the video for you. We experience a very satisfying journey into the rich Mexican history and culture, and we do it all ourselves on a shoestring budget. If you've never been to Acapulco before or even if you have experienced this wonderful Mexican port, we will show you how to have a safe and inexpensive but rewarding experience all within walking distance of the ship. We boarded a two-week cruise with our friends and we sail from Los Angeles, California aboard the Norwegian Encore. We sail along the Mexican Riviera down to Acapulco, a port we have never before visited. We leave the ship with very little idea of what we are going to do, but still manage to have an extraordinary day seeing one of the best sites in Acapulco. Much like the fort in Bermuda, the Museo Fuerte De San Diego is visible across the street from the cruise ship pier. We decide to keep our visit simple with a visit to this historic landmark. What we find is a beautiful example of a Spanish star-shaped fort full of interesting historical artifacts and displays. We are amazed at how accessible and uncrowded this museum is considering it is so close to the port. We are also very fond of the cost of our little excursion, just under $5.00 USD each.
