Barcelona in One Cruise Day | Park Güell, Sagrada Família & More
What can you see in Barcelona, Spain, during one cruise port day? Join us for a full-day guided tour featuring the Gothic Quarter, panoramic views from Montjuïc, colorful Park Güell, and the extraordinary Sagrada Família! We usually explore cruise ports on our own, but Barcelona was a day to do things differently. After taking a taxi into the city to reach our tour’s meeting point near La Boqueria Market, we began on foot through the historic streets before boarding a bus to explore farther afield. Our Barcelona day included: 📍 La Boqueria Market 📍 Barcelona Cathedral and the surrounding Gothic Quarter 📍 Plaça de Sant Jaume 📍 Via Laietana and its Chicago-inspired architecture 📍 Santa Maria del Mar 📍 Fossar de les Moreres and its eternal flame 📍 El Born’s preserved historic neighborhood 📍 Montjuïc’s Mirador de l’Alcalde overlook 📍 Antoni Gaudí’s Park Güell 📍 Sagrada Família, our final stop after lunch From narrow old-town lanes and buried streets to mosaic-covered benches and towering church spires, this was a day packed with Barcelona’s history, scenery, and remarkable architecture. A note for fellow cruisers: our tour’s meeting point was in the city, so we needed to arrange transportation from the cruise terminal. Check your meeting location and allow time to get there! This visit is part of our adventure living on the Sky Princess for 4 months through Europe. We’re Ed & Mai: WanderFree Retirees, sharing early retirement, cruise travel, and exploring the world on a limited budget. Subscribe and follow along for more port days and adventures!
