Join Sean and Kat aboard Royal Caribbean’s amplified Allure of the Seas for an eight-night Southern Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale, visiting Curaçao, Aruba, Cabo Rojo, and Perfect Day at CocoCay. In this Season 3 episode of Royal Cruisers, our full-length Let’s Cruise show, we return to our first Oasis-class ship for private island tours, specialty dining, and a port that leaves us disappointed. Our journey starts with Brightline from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale before we board at Port Everglades. Traveling with our friends Jim and Cheryl, we escape the busy Royal Promenade for a quiet drink at Vintages, then introduce them to The Mason Jar. Two sea days give us time to enjoy Johnny Rockets breakfast, Samba Grill, 150 Central Park, and the AquaTheater. Allure holds special meaning for us, and this sailing is a chance to experience the ship again after its amplification. In Curaçao, our returning guide Elton plans a six-hour private tour - and even delays his vacation by a day to take us out. Aruba brings another private tour with a guide we’ve used before, followed by time for island views, local beer, and snacks. Both islands become highlights of the cruise. Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic is a very different experience. We arrive curious about this unfamiliar port, but it becomes one of our least favorite stops. We share a brief reaction here, with the longer discussion saved for our SeaLog Podcast. Our final port day at CocoCay brings a quieter side of the island. We find an area that’s almost empty during our morning visit and enjoy some relaxed beach time before heading home.
