Waterfalls, Eagles & Forest Trails in Ketchikan 🦅💦
One of the highlights of our Alaska cruise was exploring the breathtaking Tongass National Forest during a Celebrity Cruises shore excursion in Ketchikan, Alaska. Tongass National Forest is the largest national forest in the United States and one of the world's largest temperate rainforests. We spent the morning hiking through towering trees, listening to rushing waterfalls, and spotting bald eagles soaring above the forest canopy. Like many visitors, we were hoping to see bears and salmon, but nature had other plans. Even without the wildlife sightings, this excursion was peaceful, beautiful, and one of our favorite experiences of the entire cruise. If you're planning an Alaska cruise, I highly recommend taking time to experience the rainforest.
