Exclusive interview with Weixin Zhang (Michael), CEO of Solid Technology Co. Ltd, at Foodtech Cambodia 2026. In this interview, Weixin Zhang talks about his company’s recycled plastic food trays and electronic trays, why the company invested in Cambodia, and its plans to grow in the UK and US. Key Highlights: 1. He says the company is more than 16 years old, with factories in China, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong and the UK. He says this helps the company meet European requirements such as PPWR. 2. He says the company uses recycled raw materials to make plastic trays for packing food and vegetables. He says it also makes electronic trays in anti-static, semi-conductive and conductive materials for HDD and other electronics divisions. 3. He says he chose Cambodia because more and more factories are moving there. He says the company can serve local customers and export to Europe and America, and that the Cambodian government gives the best service. 4. He says the company has been in Cambodia for six years and has grown with the Cambodian economy. He says it wants to increase its investment and grow together with Cambodia. 5. He shows a fruit tray with holes in the surface that he says helps keep fruit fresh. He says the meat tray uses a special raw material that separates meat from oxygen, so it stays fresh longer. He says trays can be designed for a customer’s special requirements. 6. He says more electronics companies are moving to Cambodia, so the company can serve them, and it wants to grow in the UK and US because it can meet their PPWR requirements. He says this is his first time at Foodtech Cambodia 2026 and that it is very helpful.
