Every Detail Planned on a Saudi Luxury Train | Dream of the Desert | WTM London | Raffaele Breschi
Exclusive interview with Raffaele Breschi, CEO of Arsenale International, at WTM London. Travel And Tour World speaks with Raffaele Breschi about Dream of the Desert, a luxury train journey across Saudi Arabia, and what guests can expect on board and off board. Key Highlights: 1. Raffaele says Dream of the Desert is a unique experience across the Saudi desert, through a thousand kilometres north of Riyadh, off the beaten path. He calls it a fully curated experience that shows the kingdom in a way guests would not otherwise see. 2. He says the team plans every detail from start to finish, from the departure at the North Station to arrival and back, on board and off board, so nothing is left to chance. 3. He says the first itinerary to go on sale is Desert Kingdom, a three-night, four-day journey with two main destinations. 4. He says the first stop is Al-Jouf and Marid Castle, which he describes as an ancient castle from 100 BC and hopes will soon be a UNESCO site. He says guests get a show with performers, light, music and acting, followed by a gala dinner. 5. He says the next day the team builds its own camp in an enclave in the Aja Mountains, as a base for wilderness experiences, stargazing, desert activities and Saudi food. 6. He says he hopes to connect Dream of the Desert with Jordan and then Turkey as rail links develop, and is also looking at Oman and the United Arab Emirates. He says discussions are happening now.
