Carnival Cruise Line has officially revealed new details about its next generation of mega ships, and they are bigger than anything the cruise line has ever built. The first ship in the new Ace Class will be Carnival Destiny, a massive 230,000 ton cruise ship expected to carry more than 8,000 guests. That's roughly 25% larger than Carnival's current largest ships, making it one of the biggest cruise ships in the world. But the size isn't the only story. Carnival says the Ace Class is being designed as the most outward facing megaship at sea. The ship will feature more than 4.5 acres of glass, huge multi story windows, a redesigned lanai deck, and more ocean view balcony cabins to help guests stay connected to the sea throughout their vacation. The cruise line also revealed that more than 70% of the restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and attractions will be completely new concepts created specifically for the Ace Class. While Carnival hasn't released the full deck plans or all of the onboard experiences yet, Carnival Destiny is currently scheduled to launch in the summer of 2029, with two sister ships already planned for 2031 and 2033. In this video, I break down everything Carnival has announced so far, what it means for future Carnival cruises, and why these ships could completely change the Carnival experience.
