Icy Strait Point Cruise Port Guide | Gondola, ZipRider & Hoonah, Alaska
Thinking about visiting Icy Strait Point on your Alaska cruise? Join us as we explore one of Alaska's most unique cruise ports during our Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas adventure! Our day begins with a scenic walk through the forest to Icy Strait Point before hopping aboard the free Green Gondola for a quick ride to the Adventure Center. From there, we pick up our wristbands and board the paid Red Gondola for the ride to the mountaintop...only to discover we're completely surrounded by thick Alaskan fog! After taking in the views (or lack of them!), we grab hot dogs and a local beer, watch a beautiful Huna Tlingit Welcome Ceremony, and debate whether a tram excursion is worth it. Instead, we decide to enjoy the natural beauty on foot, hiking back down toward the shoreline while taking in the peaceful forests, incredible scenery, and stunning views of Ovation of the Seas from the beach. We wrap up the day back at the ship with some beautiful drone footage before setting sail for our next Alaskan adventure.
