Cruising As Crew

Why Crew Keep Going Back to Cruise Ships
Hey sailors, If you’ve worked on cruise ships for a while, you’ve probably heard someone say, “This is definitely my last contract”… only to see them back onboard a few months later. Cruise ship life can be incredibly addictive. The travel, the people, the routine, the excitement and the fact that your entire life is built around the ship can make going home feel strangely difficult. And if you don’t have something meaningful waiting for you on land, it is very easy to get pulled back into “just one more contract.” In this video, I’m talking about what it actually takes to leave cruise ship life and build a life at home that you genuinely want to stay for. Leaving ships isn’t just about signing off. You need something to move towards, otherwise the familiarity and excitement of ship life can pull you straight back. I worked onboard cruise ships for 10 years, so I know how strange the transition back to normal life can feel. If you’re currently onboard thinking about leaving, or you’ve already gone home and are wondering what comes next, I hope this helps you make the transition a little easier. And if you’re at the opposite end of the journey and you’re trying to get your first cruise ship job, you can find more information about my Sail For Success programme below. 🚢 WANT TO WORK ON CRUISE SHIPS? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Sail For Success is the step-by-step course that helps you apply, stand out and get hired.
