Cruise Ship anchoring in San Remo
MARELLA DISCOVERY 2 - ANCHORING IN SAN REMO FOR TENDER TO SHORE Dropping anchor on a cruise ship is officially called anchoring. When the ship arrives at a port without a pier and must stay in position to use shuttle boats (tenders), the crew lowers the anchor until it reaches the bottom and runs out the heavy chain to hold the ship steady. Because modern cruise ships are enormous, anchoring requires careful coordination and isn't quite as simple as just "dropping" a metal hook into the water. #marella #discovery2 #anchoring #sanremo
