We're nearing the end of our Celebrity Millennium "Best of Japan" 12 Day Cruise at the penultimate port of call Hakodate on the second largest island Hokkaido. This was after our second sea day crossing from Busan in South Korea, you can watch that episode here: https://youtu.be/hQN8gy0Icos Looking back we would recommend this cruise an itinerary, you get to see a lot of Japan in twelve days with some great ports and choice of land based trips. We docked later than usual at about 09:30, everyone including the crew had to disembark to pass through Japan's immigration control which took a couple of hours. Today we chose to guide ourselves and walk around Hakodate, we were looking forward to a long walk after the very calm sea crossing, the weather was overcast so any day trip may have been compromised. Our light lunch at Carl Raymon's was a highlight, if you like good food and sausages it's a must visit place, it's only about a mile away from the quayside. The walk took us out to Cape Tachimachi for some hills and windy weather. There's enough to see in Hakodate, they had restored some red brick warehouses with all the usual gifts and local crafts, that was very busy with many coach parties visiting. Our walk was peaceful, windy, and hilly as we passed through the graveyard then along the windswept coastline to Cape Tachimachi. Please Subscribe to follow our five week UPTIME Journey around Japan. We are only two weeks into our five week trip so there will be plenty more Japan videos to follow.
