Celebrity Millennium Cruise Hakone Ropeway & Lake Ashi trip from the 12 Day "Best of Japan" Cruise
Our first stop on the "Best of Japan" Celebrity Millennium cruise was at the port of Shizuoka. We had already pre-booked an all day excursion through Celebrity a couple of months in advance. Episode Three - Celebrity Millennium Sail Away out of Yokohama is here: https://youtu.be/GbG2IgJGpUw Unfortunately our original day trip which included cruising on Lake Ashi was cancelled so we had the Hakone Ropeway and Shrine trip instead. The coach journey took about 90 minutes, then the ropeway was 30 minutes each way. It took two hours to get up to the Hakone hot springs, then we returned down to Hakone to visit the Shrine and the picturesque Torii Gate alongside Lake Ashi. In hindsight we didn't get a lot of time off the coach to see much, but then again there was very little to see back at the cruise terminal.
