While sailing up the Norwegian coast on the Hurtigruten Coastal Express, we stopped in the tiny Arctic town of Kirkenes (at the very edge of Norway) and visited the Snowhotel — yes, a hotel made entirely of snow and ice 🧊 The whole place is packed with crazy sculptures, icy rooms, and a bar carved straight out of the snow. My parents were absolutely obsessed with this one, especially the giant reindeer head — I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so happy to freeze 😂 You can even stay overnight if you’re brave enough… but we just popped in for a visit, a husky cuddle and some hot tea before heading back to the ship. It’s one of the many, many, many shore excursions you can book while sailing with Hurtigruten — honestly, every stop has something completely different, from king crab safaris to husky sledding to feeding sea eagles and giant seagulls on the side of a boat!!!!
