WHAT WENT ON SALE. On the evening of 29 Sep 2026, summer 2028 appeared: 81 Alaska cruises on four ships. Anthem of the Seas sails one way between Vancouver and Seward, Serenade of the Seas does round trips from Vancouver, Voyager and Ovation of the Seas do round trips from Seattle. Late April to late September, almost all 7 nights. WHAT A NIGHT COSTS. A typical night: Serenade and Voyager a little over $130, Anthem $140, Ovation $184. A typical night in July is $151, in September $117, and the cheapest night of the whole summer is $108, in mid September. THE GLACIER TWICE. Anthem's northbound and southbound legs connect on the same day, so you can book both and never leave the ship: 14 nights, Hubbard Glacier twice, Sitka on the way north and Juneau on the way south. There are nine of these in 2028, from $1,756 a person (1 Sep) to $2,169 (7 Jul). All 20 of Anthem's Alaska legs connect: 140 nights, 7 May to 24 Sep, $19,124. THE 193 NEW LISTINGS. One night later, 193 more Alaska listings appeared. They are cruisetours: an Anthem cruise plus 2 to 6 nights on land. The first one, on 11 May: the cruise alone is 8 nights for $876, the cruisetour is $2,126, so 2 nights on land cost $1,250. Across all of them a night on land runs about $480 and a night on the ship about $140. THE CHEAPEST WAY IN. The cheapest two weeks that include Alaska start in Los Angeles. Leg 1, 7 May 2028: Serenade sails up the Pacific coast (San Francisco, Astoria, Seattle, Victoria) to Vancouver. Leg 2 leaves the same day: 7 nights, round trip from Vancouver (Sitka, Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan). 14 nights for $1,463, $105 a night. The trip ends in Vancouver. BOOK NOW OR WAIT? 58 sailings match between the two summers: same ship, same route, same week. On 46 of them, 2028 on day one costs more than 2027 costs today, usually about 10 percent, around $80 a cruise. The exception is the 14 night glacier back-to-back in June and July, where 2028 is cheaper by $100 to $300. In September it flips: $1,422 in 2027 against $1,756 in 2028. These are two different summers, so it is a clue, not proof. WHAT OPENS NEXT. On 30 Sep, six Europe sailings for summer 2028 showed up early, from Rome, Athens, Lisbon, Ravenna and Southampton. Royal Caribbean has said part of Europe opens the week of 12 October. How many ducks did you count? Tell me in the comments.
