Getting from Civitavecchia port to Rome can often be stressful, so we tried out a shared transfer to skip the train hassle and head straight to our hotel near Villa Doria Pamphilj. From there, we braved the intense 40°C heat wave to explore one of our favourite, quieter corners of the city: the charming bohemian district of Trastevere.
