Explorer of the Seas Embarkation Day Vlog | Zero Dollar Cruise Challenge, Mangrove Marketplace Stop!
Hey everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Explorer of the Seas cruise vlog with Royal Caribbean! This whole trip is a comped cruise so I'm challenging myself to spend zero dollars onboard the entire time. We only paid the port fees, taxes, and prepaid gratuities. On top of that, I'm trying to stick to my diet the whole cruise too. Will I make it? Let's see how Day 1 goes! We start with the drive to Port Canaveral and make a really nice stop at the Mangrove Marketplace and Lofts in Cocoa Beach (actually Cape Canaveral area). It's such a great spot to stock up on supplies, grab some lunch, and even stay overnight in one of their beautiful Airbnbs if you want. This time we left one of our cars there for the duration of the cruise at half the cost of parking at the port. It's only 1.3 miles from the terminals and I show you exactly what the parking is like. After that we head over, park our other car in the Royal Caribbean garage, and walk onto the Explorer of the Seas. Even though the ship is almost 26 years old, she is so well maintained and still looks beautiful. I always get impressed by how nice Royal Caribbean ships are, especially the Royal Promenade. It never disappoints! We spend some time exploring, grab something to eat, and then hit the casino where I used our free play and got comped drinks. Did we win anything? This whole first night cost us zero dollars and we had a lot of fun.
