I Counted the Steps at Indiana's Haunted 100 Steps Cemetery
Every town has a story... and this one begins with a staircase. In this first Crossroads Detours adventure, I travel to Brazil, Indiana, to visit the legendary 100 Steps Cemetery, a place surrounded by decades of folklore and ghost stories. According to local legend, anyone who climbs the steps at midnight and counts each one may encounter the ghost of the cemetery caretaker, who reveals the manner of their death before mysteriously disappearing. Visiting during daylight hours, I explore the historic Cloverland Cemetery, climb the famous staircase, and put one part of the legend to the test by counting every step going up... and every step coming back down.
