MÁLAGA's Most Stunning Sites You Must See Walking
Today on Travels with the Russells, we’re continuing our P&O Arvia Mediterranean cruise and heading ashore in Málaga, Spain, for a self-guided walking tour through one of the Costa del Sol’s most fascinating cities. Málaga is far more than sunshine and beaches. It’s a city where Roman, Moorish and Spanish history all sit remarkably close together, making it a fantastic cruise-port destination to explore on foot. Today we take in the sights, atmosphere and character of Málaga as we make our way around the city. Málaga is famous for its historic centre, Málaga Cathedral – known locally as “La Manquita” – the ancient Roman Theatre and the impressive Alcazaba fortress. The Alcazaba dates largely from the 11th century and is one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, while the Roman Theatre dates back to the Roman period. We also experience the atmosphere of the city’s famous pedestrian streets and historic centre. Arriving aboard P&O Arvia, we wanted to see how much of Málaga we could discover under our own steam. So come along with us as we explore the city, take in the sights and discover what Málaga is like on a cruise port day. If you’re planning a Mediterranean cruise, visiting Málaga from a cruise ship, or simply looking for things to do in Málaga, Spain, we hope our walking tour gives you some useful ideas and a taste of what you can see for yourself. This is a relaxed, real-life travel vlog from our P&O Arvia Mediterranean cruise, filmed as we explored Málaga together. We love discovering destinations on foot, seeing famous landmarks and finding out a little of the history behind the places we visit – and Málaga certainly gives us plenty to look at!
