Missed a Cruise Excursion? Here’s How We Resolved Ours
If your cruise ship arrives late and you miss a privately booked shore excursion, what should you do? That’s exactly what happened to us in Costa Rica. Our ship arrived later than expected, our excursion left without us, and suddenly we found ourselves trying to figure out the next steps. Would we lose the money? Was there anything we could do? What documentation did we need? Who should we contact first? In this video, we walk through exactly what happened, the steps we took, and the process we followed to try to resolve the situation. We also share several important lessons we learned along the way that could save you time, stress, and potentially money if this ever happens to you. More importantly, we discuss things you can do BEFORE booking private shore excursions that may improve your chances of a successful resolution if your ship is delayed, an itinerary changes, or circumstances beyond your control prevent you from making your tour. If you book excursions through local operators, Viator, Shore Excursions Group, private guides, or independent tour companies, these are tips you’ll want to know before your next cruise.
