Join us for the eighth and final episode of our Queen Mary 2 Eastbound Transatlantic Crossing as we wrap up an unforgettable voyage aboard Cunard’s iconic ocean liner. On our last full day at sea, we revisit favourite spots, enjoy a complimentary Platinum wine tasting, relax in the Mareel Spa, and soak up every last moment before arriving back in Southampton. Leaving our stateroom, we head straight to the Observation Deck for one final look at those sweeping Atlantic views. With warmer weather greeting us as we neared the UK, it felt almost like summer compared to New York — the perfect backdrop for a sentimental final sea day. Found forward on Deck 7, the Mareel Spa has been one of our favourite places onboard. Our full‑voyage pass was worth every penny, so today we made the most of all the thermal facilities one last time. If you’re considering the spa on your own Queen Mary 2 cruise, we’d definitely recommend it. Next, we joined the Platinum Loyalty wine tasting, hosted by QM2’s knowledgeable sommeliers. From crisp whites to bold reds — including one of our favourites, Sula — it was a lovely perk, complete with cheese pairings. Our only wish is that it had been held earlier in the voyage so we could have ordered a bottle or two for dinner. With wine on the mind, we stopped by the Chart Room to compare our go‑to choices in the calm afternoon sunshine. Later, we popped into the Carinthia Lounge where a pianist was performing, though the atmosphere was a little too quiet for us tonight. So back to the Chart Room we went for another round before dinner. This evening’s highlight was The Verandah, Queen Mary 2’s speciality steakhouse located aft on Deck 8. With an extensive menu and a focus on high‑quality ingredients, it’s a real treat. If you’d like to study the menu in more detail, feel free to pause the video. Of course, we couldn’t end our voyage without one last visit to the Commodore Club, our favourite bar onboard. A final stroll around the Promenade Deck gave us the perfect moment to reflect on what has been a truly memorable crossing. The next morning, we arrived back in Southampton, marking the end of our eastbound transatlantic journey. We opted for a relaxed breakfast in the Britannia Restaurant before disembarking — the ideal way to finish any Cunard voyage. And just like that, our Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing comes to an end. It’s been an incredible experience from start to finish.
