Japanese Navy Warships Arrive in Vancouver 🇯🇵⚓ JS Kashima & JS Yamagiri | Free Tours This Week
Two Japanese Navy warships sailed into Vancouver today under classic West Coast skies and the North Shore mountains. 🇯🇵⚓ The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron is in town — and you can step aboard this week. ⚓ JS KASHIMA (the flagship) The JMSDF's one-of-a-kind cadet training ship — 143 m long, home-ported in Kure, Japan. Watch her drop anchor in a clear, up-close shot with the crew moving on deck… anchored right in front of Canada's next-generation Navy ships being built at the North Vancouver shipyard. Two allied fleets, side by side. 🇯🇵🤝🇨🇦 🚢 JS YAMAGIRI (the escort) The squadron's Asagiri-class destroyer sailed all the way up Vancouver Harbour to drop anchor deeper in the inlet — a great look as she made her way past the city. 🎟️ FREE PUBLIC TOURS — STEP ABOARD JS Kashima "Open Ship" — Wednesday, Sept 16, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (last boarding 1:30 p.m.) 📍 Burrard Dry Dock Pier — 15 Wallace Mews, North Vancouver (The Shipyards) Free • first-come, first-served • adults bring photo ID • no large bags. These goodwill visits are part of the JMSDF's Overseas Training Cruise, giving junior officers real-world sailing experience and strengthening the friendship between Japan and Canada. 🔔 SUBSCRIBE for Vancouver harbour, cruise ships, navy visits & city views. 👍 LIKE if you love seeing warships in the harbour. 💬 COMMENT if you're heading to the open ship on Wednesday! 📅 More Vancouver views: https://vancouvercityviews.com #JMSDF #JSKashima #JapaneseNavy #Vancouver #Warship #Navy #VancouverHarbour #NorthVancouver #Military #ShipSpotting #VancouverCityViews #Kashima
