Today's cruise news: Holland America's Noordam runs into dramatic weather during its 28-day Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice cruise as thick fog rolls into Nome, Alaska, shutting down tender operations after only 229 guests and 14 crew made it ashore, with one tender even striking an underwater object. Carnival Cruise Line surprises fans by opening its previously invite-only SEA Cruises aboard Carnival Firenze to anyone 21 and older, with four Mexican Riviera sailings from Long Beach in October and November including a John Heald-hosted voyage on October 12th. And Carnival clears up confusion after a Carnival Sunrise guest sparks a fleetwide debate by asking where to find soda at breakfast, with John Heald confirming Java Blue Cafe serves soda and energy drinks from around 7am.
