After tendering ashore, we boarded a bus for a countryside excursion that took us to St Michael’s Mount and the Queen’s Hotel in Penzance for tea. Penzance was especially meaningful to me: I once performed in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, so I was thrilled to finally visit the town behind the title.
