The smartest Royal Caribbean ship to book isn't always the newest one. While everyone's talking about Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas, and Legend of the Seas, three underrated ships — Navigator of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, and Adventure of the Seas — can deliver better value depending on your budget, departure port, itinerary, and travel style. None of these are perfect ships, and none will be right for every cruiser. Here's what each one actually offers: Navigator of the Seas — A more manageable version of Royal Caribbean's active-ship experience. Waterslides, FlowRider, Playmakers, and The Bamboo Room, with a strong lineup for West Coast cruisers. Jewel of the Seas — A calmer, more traditional cruise. Its smaller Radiance Class layout, ocean views, and relaxed pace suit adults, couples, and cruisers who prioritize itinerary over onboard attractions. Adventure of the Seas — The most complicated pick on this list. Its age and wear can show, but it still delivers Royal Caribbean staples like The Perfect Storm waterslides, FlowRider, Splashaway Bay, ice shows, and the Royal Promenade. At the right price, it's a smart option for value-focused families who know what they're booking. This video breaks down what people like about each ship, the most common complaints, what each one does well, who should book it, and who should skip it.
