Also aboard was Mike Brady from @OceanlinerDesigns We’d spoken by email before the cruise, and Mike kindly complimented me for my book A Photographic History of the Orient Line. We had arranged to meet Mike aboard the ship and watch the sail away together. On this day, the HAPAG-Lloyd cruise ship Europa was also in port. As QM2 prepared to depart, she sounded her giant Typhon Whistles (one of which is now 90 years old and came from the original Mary).
