Mother’s Day at Silverwood Lake | CJ7 & Ski Craft Adventure
Join us for our first lake trip of the year as we take our 1977 CJ7 and our 13-foot Ski Craft outboard boat to beautiful Silverwood Lake for Mother’s Day! This trip had a few surprises right from the start. Normally, our boat has to go through an inspection before launching, but this time we were able to head straight in since the rules had changed. That was a great surprise… but the day didn’t stay smooth for long. After launching, we realized the trim needed adjustment. While making the fix, I accidentally clipped a submerged boulder and bent the prop! Even with that setback, we kept cruising and made the best of an awesome day on the water. We explored some lakeside walking paths, spotted wildlife and critters around the shore, relaxed in a no-wake zone, and enjoyed sandwiches, chips, drinks, and a peaceful afternoon on the lake. Silverwood had a few changes this year too — including our usual launch area being closed — so we had to roll with the punches and adapt. Overall, it turned into a memorable Mother’s Day adventure and a great start to lake season.
