Royal Caribbean is changing its cancellation policy for new North American bookings beginning October 11, 2026, and the financial penalty could start sooner than many cruisers realize. The 25% cancellation tier is being eliminated. For cruises lasting 5–9 nights, the 50% penalty period begins 89 days before departure. For cruises lasting 10 nights or longer, it begins 119 days before departure. Some qualifying 2028 Alaska, Hawaii, Transpacific, Panama Canal and Pacific Coastal bookings made on or after September 29 are already subject to the new schedule. Before canceling a cruise or removing someone from your stateroom, check the cancellation terms attached to your specific reservation and ask for the exact financial penalty in writing. #RoyalCaribbean #TravelTips #CruiseTips #CruiseNews #CruisePlanning
