Queen Mary 2 - QM2 Summer Transatlantic Crossing | Then the Captain Said “TITANIC”… Day 3
A foggy morning on Queen Mary 2 started with closed decks, cold North Atlantic wind and a foghorn sounding through the mist. Then came the captain's noon announcement. Around 4:00 a.m. the following morning, QM2 would be approximately 350 nautical miles due north of Titanic’s resting place on the North Atlantic seabed. Day 3 of our summer transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton suddenly felt a little different. We also learn we may see Cape Race, Newfoundland later that evening, move the clocks forward another hour, spend most of the day working aboard the ship, have dinner in the Britannia Restaurant and finish the night with Cunard’s Let’s Dance production show. This is our real day-by-day experience crossing the North Atlantic aboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 — including the ordinary moments and the ones that make you remember exactly where you are.
