Easter Adventure 2026 - Cunard Queen Victoria - Travel and day in Oxford
Hi Everyone, Welcome to our new vlog series and the first of 2026! In this vlog we will be travelling to Southampton. We decided to break the journey up, so on our first night we travelled South to stay at the Premier Inn M6 J21 at Warrington. This was a nice Premier Inn that was conveniently located just off the M6. We were glad we started our journey on the Thursday as the traffic was quiet all the way down. However after two hours of travelling Lee noticed that he had forgotten to put his suit carrier with all his formal wear into the car. Fortunately he has a couple of other jackets packed in his suitcase so will have to improvise on the two formal nights. After settling in to the room we ventured out to Juniper Farm for a nice carvery. We were all very hungry and the carvery hit the spot. After this we decided to top up the fuel tank for the rest of the journey. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel. We were pleased with the selection and you can never go wrong with a P&O breakfast! We each had cereal before having a plate of delicious hot food! After that we were ready to set of towards Oxford. The journey was longer than anticipated. The sat a originally said two and a half hours but due to Easter traffic and some other road incidents it was an hour longer than that. We arrived at Redbridge Park and Ride and got the bus for free into the city centre. Parking was only £2.90 which was a great promotion by Oxford County Council. Once we arrived in Oxford, we had a nice walk around the different College buildings in the area. Oxdord has an amazing mix of historical buildings and we see some of the highlights in this vlog. We take a walk through the covered market, looking at the different stalls inside. It was very busy so we didn't get to see everything properly but hopefully we can revisit another time. Afterwards we went to the Westgate Centre, in an attempt to purchase a new formal outfit. Unfortunately this didn't work out, so we finished our day in Oxford witha nice meal at Wagamama. We then made our final pre cruise journey to the Holiday Inn in Eastleigh. We sorted everything out and present a room tour of our family room. This stay is a package deal that includes breakfast, parking for the duration of the cruise and a taxi to the port. We had to pay a supplement for a bigger taxi due to the number of cases we have with us. Afterwards Emily shows us her purchases from Popmart, and you can join in on the unboxing fun. Feel free to guess which doll she got. We then show the treats we picked up on Oxford. We purchased two cinammon rolls from the High Street Cafe, and a slice of Caramel Cake from Taylor's of Oxford. Finally we show what we purchased at Tesco for supper, each having a meal deal so we wouldn't have to leave the hotel to get something else to eat. The next vlog will be Embarkation day and we can't wait to visit Queen Victoria and explore another new ship. Thanks for watching!
