I Ate at Giovanni’s Table So You Don’t Have To
Is Giovanni’s Table worth booking on Royal Caribbean? In this specialty restaurant review, Sean shares the food from our visit aboard Voyager of the Seas and explains why inconsistent service across several sailings leads to an overall rating of three out of five. We begin with the cheese and cured meat board, arugula salad, and minestrone soup. For our main courses, Kat orders carbonara and eggplant, while Sean tries the seafood linguine. Dessert brings tiramisu and cannoli. The food is largely a highlight. We enjoy the Italian dishes and explain why we’ve found lunch particularly good value, with substantial overlap between the lunch and dinner menus on our visits. The cheese and cured meat board is an exception. Its quality has varied considerably between ships, including a disappointing version we previously received on Adventure of the Seas. Service is our bigger concern. We discuss problems from several Giovanni’s Table visits, keeping those experiences separate from the meal shown here. On Voyager of the Seas, different people repeatedly served our table, leaving us unsure who our waiter was. Our verdict: three out of five overall. We rate most of the food highly, but inconsistent service keeps us from recommending it more strongly. These are our personal experiences across several visits, and we recognize that other guests may have very different ones. We also explain the distinction between Giovanni’s Table and Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen. This review focuses on Giovanni’s Table. 🍽️ DINING DETAILS Restaurant: Giovanni’s Table Featured ship: Voyager of the Seas | Royal Caribbean Review scope: Food from our Voyager visit, plus comparisons with previous Giovanni’s Table experiences Dishes featured: Cheese and cured meat board • Arugula salad • Minestrone • Carbonara • Eggplant • Seafood linguine • Tiramisu • Cannoli Sean’s overall rating: 3 out of 5 Lunch pricing and menu comparisons discussed in the video reflect our experiences at the time.
