Here’s what we wish someone had told us before going 👇 Te Anau is your last stop: The 120 km drive to Milford has zero petrol stations, cafés, or shops. Fuel up and stock up on food before you head out. 🚗 Time your cruise right: Midday summer cruises get pricey fast. Going off-peak is way cheaper, and it pays to check sites like Bookme, GrabOne, or NZTT for deals before booking full price direct. 🚢 Embrace the rain: Clear days are stunning, but heavy rain creates thousands of massive waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Don't stress if the weather turns! 🌧️ Factor in parking fees: Parking right near the terminal is about $10/hour. Free parking exists, but it’s a 30-minute walk to the boat. 🅿️ Pack heavy-duty bug spray: The sandflies here are brutal, even in the car park. We swear by Aerogard—don't leave without it. 🦟 Milford rewards people who slow down and plan properly.
